Smt. Saraswathi Subhash

Smt.Saraswathi Subhash  is a distinguished teacher of Bharatnatyam and is the director of her dance school Sruthy Nrithyaalayam . She began learning Bharatanatyam at the age of 5 and pursued her passion for this great art throughout her childhood and adolescence. Her knowledge extends not only to Bharatanatyam but also to academic fields.

She earned her Master’s degree in Physics, Bachelor’s in Education, and a Diploma in Special Education. She is also a member of the International Council of Graphologists and is a trained and certified Handwriting Analyst and Facilitator .

Guru Smt. Saraswathi Subhash returned to dance after a gap of 15 years and studied under Karanataka Kalashree Guru Subhadra Prabhu. Notably, she finished her M.A. in Bharatanatyam at Bangalore University under the guidance of various eminent gurus. She has been learning Nattuvangam under the pre-eminent Natuvanar and Mridhangist Guru Shankar Jagadheesan. Guru Smt. Saraswathi Subhash has also been learning Classical Carnatic Music from the Illustrious Guru Venkat Ayalur. In pursuing her dream of being a teacher of Bharatanatyam she found a balance between her academic and her creative interests.

She is the first person in her family to pursue the artform of Bharatanatyam. She has cultivated her skills and refined her craft through hard work and diligence. Under her tutelage the students of Sruthy Nrithyaalayam performed in the divine premises of Kolur and Guruvayoor during the Dussehera festival. Arts and Music according to Natya Shastra is spiritual with the power to guide one to Salvation.

The vision of Guru Saraswathi Subhash isn’t limited to developing her students’ mastery of Bharatanatyam but also carries an ethical impulse to make her students aware of the rich culture and values that is at the heart of this life-nurturing artform. This impulse also seeps into her mission as a Graphotherapist working on the holistic personality development of children. Even with her vast experience and training, she continues to pursue the learning of Bharatanatyam in order to deepen her expertise and enrich her life.
